If you had your own radio or television station, what would it be called and what kind of programming would it play?

Can I call it The Best Canceled TV? I think that's suitable. All of my favorite shows would be on in a super lineup. Can you picture it? Firefly followed by Pushing Daisies, Veronica Mars and Middle Man. Add things that are in danger of being canned like Dollhouse, Chuck, and old standards like Buffy and West Wing to make the perfect evening. Oooh, adding people who were on Joss shows like Bones, and How I Met Your Mother. I would never leave my house.

Okay, so we're not over the colds yet, but if I sleep, the snot runs down my throat and makes me cranky...so I'm up and awake and I'd rather not watch Dora. This post will be random, but hopefully makes some sense.

Numero Uno: I'm immune to sudafed. sudafed is the only "cold" medicine a pregnant lady is supposed to take. I've asked numerous doctors in my husband's clinic and they all act like I must be crazy. It doesn't work!

Just a thought, don't watch Buffy's Restless ep and then go to sleep with undermedicated head cold. It causes REALLY freaky dreams. I wish the cheese man was the worst of it. I'm pretty sure at one point I was in the wall with Joyce and the mice.

Another cold related thought: remind me to always buy the puffs with aloe and lotion. I didn't this time. I was a sucker for marketing and bought the regular old Kleenex with Wall-E and Princess' on the boxes. Now my nose is paying the price.

Numero ni: I didn't take a single picture from my favorite things party. (What kind of a hostess am I?!) But it was fun. What did we get? chocolate, candy, mini sushi makers, key lime soda, cottonelle wipes, cinnamin popcorn made with a whirly pop which I now need, chocolate, hot chocolate, (anyone see a pattern?) and candles. there might have been more, but i can't remember and it's all been used or eaten.

I've only got one more holiday party left for the season and that one isn't until January. Of course, January will also be the time of my Dr. Horrible party. Yay!

Three: I got my Christmas cards last week. They are still sitting on my counter. No address labels, no stamps, no love. I really am gonna get them out by tomorrow. I promise. I bought labels yesterday and everything. Now I just have to make the labels and buy the stamps. Oh, who am I kidding, if you get it before New Year's thank your lucky stars.

I was also supposed to bake cookies this week and send them to my sister who is fighting for our freedom in Iraq (her words, not mine. She is pretty comfy on a base she never leaves, typing to me on gchat. But that line works really well when she calls the state of Texas because her husband didn't renew the car's registration.) But, um, the cold has pretty much put a halt to any baking thoughts. I didn't even make dinner last night let alone bake two different kinds of cookies and then get them to the post office.

Number net: I want a Nielsen's box for Christmas. I think I could have saved the world if I had a box. Veronica Mars? Veronica and Logan  back together and still on tv if I had a Nielson's box. Middleman? Fighting crime with wit for many eons if I'd only had a box. Pushing Daisies? Enjoying many long seasons of non-touchy romance if I had a box. Could I have saved Firefly? No, because I didn't watch it until it was already canned. Sorry, that one is all my fault, box or no box.

And lastly Merry/Happy Christmas to all. I know it's still a week away, but my posting may not happen again. But I do want to do a Christmas episode list, so if you have any favorites you want included. Write 'em up in the comments and I'll post them too. :)

If you can guess all the languages those numbers are in I'll give you a cookie. Not a real one...you don't want my cold, do you?

EDIT: Amazon just shipped my Dr. Horrible DVD and now it might be here in time for Christmas! Whoo hoo!

So, we are t-minus 4 days to Japan and the blessings have been plentiful.

1) We got tickets! All of us on the same flights! This was a big deal because we didn't receive our Family Entry Approval (visas) until Monday. I had been obsessively checking the flights to make sure there would be enough seats. The Olympics have really messed with our move and I was just sure that there wouldn't be seats.

2) We sold Cheyenne's car! We bought it just 5 months ago and we were able to sell it for the total amount of the loan. It came out of no where. The guy called and seemed luke warm so we didn't think anything of it. Then he calls yesterday from his bank and says, "can you guys come sign on it now?" You better believe we were there lickity split. Now we are car payment free for the next four years so we should be able to work a big chunk of our debt off.

3) I had my 26th birthday. Let me tell ya folks, Marble Slab birthday cakes are way better than any other ice cream cake out there. It had 1/4 inch cake and the rest was ice cream. Yummy! We had a great time and my brothers enjoyed teasing me about "pushing 30."

Ainsely Stuff

1) Stung by 3 wasps and one bee in 4 days. By the time the bee stung her she was screaming "baking soda!" instead of "ow!"

2) After swimming, she was sitting on my lap in her floaty suit. It has a zipper in the back and I was playing with it. She kept telling me to stop playing with it.

Me: Sorry, I won't play with it anymore. It's just fun.
Ainsley: It's not a toy, mom!

Scolded by my own child, but I couldn't stop laughing.

3) Cheyenne's son Kamron came to stay for a few days and Ainsley would follow him around. "Brother! Brother! That's my Kamron." He's 8 and was so very good at including Ainsley when he played.

4) Ainsley is going to miss Grandma and Grandpa's pad. Yesterday my dad was checking the A/C filter, which happens to be located in Ainsley's room. She went running in there.
Ainsley: Grandpa! What are you doing in my room?
Grandpa: I'm checking this.
Ainsley: What are you fixing?
Grandpa: I'm checking the filter.
Ainsley: Oh, can I help?

Then there was the cuddling and reading with Grandma so I wouldn't put her in bed. Then there's the regular greetings, "Grandma! You're home!", "Grandpa! You got jelly beans?"

Did I mention that she plays nonstop with my sister (she's 9) and my brothers are teaching her the drums and guitar? She is going to be so lonely when it's just Mommy and Daddy to fawn over her.

So, I don't have much in the way of reviewing tv. I've watched it, but been too busy to write about it. Here's a quickie.

Project Runway: It's back! And it's fierce.

Middleman: still good, you're still not watching it. Do it!

Madmen: Came back with avengence and I'm so psyched for it.

Tori & Dean Home Sweet Hollywood: This is my new addiction. I love D-list celebs and Tori is no exception. I've got my whole family sucked in: Cheyenne, my mom, my dad (who noted it was oddly addictive), my brothers (who say that Tori and I have a similar sense of humor) and even my little sister. It's absurd, but fun.

Oh! And on the TV front, we got the HAVA box all set up so I can have TV in Japan! Yay

We got our passports! Earlier than we expected. The Lord is looking out for us. Cheyenne 's been back from Pensacola for a week now. That makes a total of three weeks of leave for him. Three weeks you say? The Navy graciously gave us a port call of August 5 instead of the July 30. That takes a load of worries off.

Our household goods (goes by boat) were picked up from storage in Maryland last week and today our unaccompanied baggage (500lbs that goes by air) is being picked up. We've been running around the house making sure I got everything so Mom and Dad don't have to mail us anything.

I love tutus and I've been trying to buy Ainsley one, but do you know how much they cost? They are absurdly expensive! I happened to be blog stalking (ya know, the people you kinda know, but not well enough to leave a comment) and saw something about someone making tutus and how easy it was. So  I googled it and low and behold it's totally easy! I ran right out and got some tulle and I've been a tutu fiend. I've made 3 so far and I'm way excited about.

I'll do a more thorough review of TV later. I dunno...when I get to Japan. Things are just so crazy, but here's a quick rundown of what you should be watching.

Middleman: Still the best show I've seen in a while. Really! Turn on the TV and watch it! It's funny, witty, and smart. Play count the pop culture references. It's fun. Mondays at 10/9 central on ABC Family

Closer: I heart Brenda Lee Johnson and her fabulous southern accent. The show is back and it's kickin. Mondays 9/8 central TNT

Madmen: I rented one disc and ran out the next day and bought it. It's that juicy. It's totally a guilty pleasure for me. Half the fun is recreating the era of the early 60s. Love it! Season 2 premieres on my birthday, 27 July on AMC.

Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog: I would say this rocked hard. It did. Up until the rather annoying ending. The song's were catchy though. And I heart Doogie Howser!

Oh yea, I saw Batman and I vaguely remember the massive crush I had on Christian Bale when I went through my Swing Kids phase in jr high...but now it's full blown. That is one hot man.

I've been so consumed with getting everything set to move to Japan, I haven't done any TV chatter. How have you guys lived? Really?

Tonight we are off to the 3rd of July San Angelo Symphony concert and Fireworks at the Riverstage. It's gonna be hot, but we're getting chicken and we're gonna have fun. ;)

The thought that I may be excluded from my beloved idiot box favorites while I soak up the culture of another country makes me sad. I'm crossing my fingers that I can still grab season passes on iTunes of my favs...even though my humble abode will be in the Land of the Rising Sun.
