Can't Costco ever be uneventful?
I needed wipes and diapers so I got up this morning and decided to go to Costco. I could make it back before Ainsley had to go to school, so it would have been fine.

Finally got out of the house at 11am. Went to cash check and change cash to yen. Oh, whoops. The club cash cage is closed for construction for like 3 months. Ugh. So I went to the NEX and cashed a check, then went to the bank to change the yen. (i've forgotten my ATM pin number so I've got to use these ancient pieces of paper called checks. I'm pretty sure I'm the last person using them.)

Well...by this point I was getting crabby. But I was gonna push on, even tho I felt like I should stay home. Got on the road around 1130. Not too bad, I could maybe still make it back in time for school. Well, traffic was awful. Not really, but Ainsley was awful and Riley was screaming and I wanted to turn around, but I pushed forward anyways. Got to Costco, got everything I needed. They even had some fun extra things. Had lunch. It was already 2, but if I trucked it Ainsley could be back before snack time.

I was thinking to myself, see, that wasn't the Holy Ghost telling me to turn around, I was just being wimpy. Went to turn the car on and it wouldn't start. Wouldn't even turn. No power at all! The minute it happened I knew I'd lost that argument with Heavenly Father. That was why I shouldn't have gone. Nobody even knows how to get to Costco but me! I couldn't even call a friend to come and get us. (Shelle knows, but she's on va-cay)

I figured I'd walk down to the tire place to see if they had jumper cables and could help. No such luck. The guy also seemed to be the only guy at Costco that didn't speak English. I was almost crying at this point.

As I was walking I noticed some people that looked like they might speak English. It was an Australian couple that had borrowed a car from friends to go to Costco. They weren't sure if there were jumper cables, but they checked and tada! Cables! They loaded up their car and came and helped. The guy had to push the van out because I didn't back in. D: But we got it started. Thankfully!

Ainsley and I said a prayer thanking Heavenly Father for sending someone to help us. We made it home around 4, took the car straight to the autoport and walked home with the stroller.

I did find something super fun at Costco. It's naan. I have no idea how to heat it up since the instructions are in Japanese, but check out the brand.

O.K., for naan you sprinkle it with a little water on both sides, then put it in a very hot, UNGREASED frying pan for about 30 second per side.

Man, they don't sell THAT brand around here. I'm jealous.

Adama! Awesome. I find little joys in stupid things like that too.

After the shitty weekend I had, I ended up watching two eps each of Supernatural and Friday Night Lights, so the pretty, pretty boys could make everything better. :)

Sorry to hear your trip was so crappy. Did my directions help at all?

Tada! :) I knew there was a reason why I like you. So Costco in JApan? Lucky. I went to a place called Metro and tried to pretend it was Costco, but it didn't last long... glad everything worked out. Lucky again! Three cheers for Australians! Monique

I should go to Costco with you sometime than I would know how to get there in case of emergencies.

I'm glad it all worked out in the end. Did you get jumper cables? I'd have to double check, but I think we have a spare set if you want them.

I was wondering if you were ever gonna get to this one. YES! AUSSIES FTW! I was so thrilled they could help. Seriously, i saw them and hoped they weren't like German or something! I could not take the language barrier.

I've been to Indian (the Japanese love it!) way too much in the past few weeks, but now I can just eat Adama Naan. You think it's more attractive than the other naan? or more bad ass? XD

BTW i'm trying to get Cheyenne to send me some stuff so I can update his blog with his trip to Perth. He said there was totally a language thing. "I felt like I was back in Japan. It's English but SO hard to understand!" But he found me cheezles!

Haha, slowly but surely. I'm so behind, LOL. I'm so glad that they were there for you, cos man, a dead car in your own country sucks, let alone in a different one :(

YOU'RE MAKING ME CRAVE INDIAN! I haven't had it in aaaages D: HAHA, clearly it would be the most bad ass naan bread ever. Putting all the other naans in their place. XD

YAY CHEEZELS! Link me when he/you updates? I wanna read what he thinks of Oz. It's English but SO hard to understand! HAHA SO TRUE. Has he mentioned any slang or whatever he's heard?

Bad Van!
What was wrong with the van? I'm so sorry! The new-to-us car that we just bought for Chris wouldn't start last night, and we now have a bill for $1000 worth of car repairs, about half what we paid for it. Yay...

Re: Bad Van!
They just recharged the battery so it only cost $7.50. But it shorted the stereo out! :( But we have one that Cheyenne will put in when he gets back, so no big.

That's a real bummer about Chris' new car!

Re: Bad Van!
The battery is pretty new - it died when we bought it (immediately after we bought it, of course!) at Christmas 2008. I'm sure Cheyenne will do a better job with the stereo install than the last people did. You might even get radio.
